Americans fear obesity but do not see value of a special tax on junk food
Most say obesity is a serious public health problem but they do not think that a tax on junk food would curb people’s appetite:
-57% say obesity is a very serious public health problem
-60% oppose a special tax on junk food
-72% say a special tax would not encourage more people to lose weight

Concern about flu is on the rise, but Americans are staying away from flu shots
More than majority believes 2009’s flu season is worse but the number of Americans who plan to get a shot remains unchanged from October 2008.
-56% say this year’s flu season will be worse than last year’s
-53% intend to get a shot this year compared to 54% in 2008, despite the much-publicized outbreak of swine flu
